Operation “Lesovoz” started in Tatarstan

Operation “Timber” was launched in the Republic of Tatarstan today. The purpose of this interdepartmental operational and preventive measure is to prevent and suppress illegal harvesting, transportation and processing of wood in the republic. The operation will run until November 5, 2020.

Within a month, mobile patrol groups will check the legality of timber transportation. The raids will be held with the participation of state forest inspectors of the republic and employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan. Also, joint duty will be organized at stationary traffic police posts of the traffic police.

We remind you that the transportation of timber without an accompanying document drawn up in accordance with the forest legislation procedure entails the imposition of an administrative fine on officials in the amount of 30 to 50 thousand rubles with confiscation of timber and (or) vehicles that are an instrument of committing an administrative offense, or without it; for legal entities from 500 to 700 thousand rubles with or without confiscation of timber and (or) vehicles, which are an instrument of committing an administrative offense.
