Tatarstan completed work on the formation of an insurance fund for seeds of forest plants
In the Republic of Tatarstan, work has been completed on the formation of an insurance fund for seeds of forest plants. Currently, the fund has 253 kg of coniferous seeds, including pine ‒ 134 kg, spruce ‒ 105 kg, larch ‒ 14 kg.
Recall that the insurance fund for forest seeds was created by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tajikistan in order to ensure work on reforestation and afforestation in the event of lean years. The seeds are stored in a specialized warehouse of the Forestry Seed Breeding Center of the Republic of Tatarstan in the forestry enterprise village of the Sabinsky municipal district.
For reference. The insurance funds are allocated seeds of the 1st quality class with high germination energy, not infected with pests and without pathogenic microflora, mainly harvested at the sites of a permanent forest seed base, in highly productive plantations, having certificates confirming their sowing quality. In good years, in the presence of an already formed insurance fund, it is renewed, during which the existing seeds are completely or partially replaced with freshly prepared ones.
