Kazan hosted the XXVIII reporting and election conference of the Union “Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan”
Today in the CC “Saydash” the XXVIII reporting and election conference of the Union “Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan” took place. The conference was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, heads of republican ministries and departments, delegates from member organizations of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan, incl. from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan ‒ the chairman of the primary trade union organization of the Ministry, head of the organizational work department Natalya Tyukayeva.
In his welcoming speech, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that this year the trade union movement celebrates its 115th anniversary, as well as the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia. “Today the Federation of Trade Unions of Tatarstan unites about 800 thousand people and is one of the largest associations in the country. The republic has formed a fairly effective mechanism for protecting the rights and interests of workers,” the President of the Republic of Tatarstan stressed.
He noted that trade unions have always adequately responded to the challenges of the time, remaining the main defenders of the ideas of labor solidarity and mutual assistance, as well as upholding the rights and interests of workers.
With a report on the work of the Council of the Union “Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan” for 2015-2020. Elena Kuzmicheva, Chairperson of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke. She said that, at the suggestion of trade unions, for the first time, the minimum wage reached the subsistence level ‒ today it is 12,130 rubles, and for the off-budget sector of the economy ‒ 14,000 rubles, excluding compensation payments.
Over 5 years legal labor inspectors have carried out more than 5 thousand inspections of organizations in the republic. Based on the results of the violations identified, appropriate submissions were sent to employers. As a result, about 93% of violations were eliminated.
Trade union lawyers carried out an examination and prepared comments and suggestions to 451 draft laws and other normative legal acts of the social and labor sphere of the RF and RT.
Improving working conditions and health in the workplace is a priority for trade unions. Currently, 20 technical labor inspectors and 72 freelance inspectors carry out public control at enterprises and organizations of the republic. Over a five-year period, technical labor inspectors carried out more than 7 thousand inspections, revealed about 18 thousand violations, considered more than 2 thousand appeals, statements and complaints (98% were decided in favor of employees).
The main link of public control over labor protection directly in collectives is the labor protection representatives of trade unions. Their efforts alone revealed about 320 thousand violations of labor protection requirements over 5 years, 94% of which were eliminated. Thanks to joint work, positive results have been achieved. So, at enterprises and organizations where there are trade union structures, the number of fatal accidents has decreased almost 2 times.
Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia Mikhail Shmakov emphasized that the successful activity of the Federation of Trade Unions of Tatarstan is the result of well-coordinated work of both trade unions, employers and the leadership of the republic. Then Mikhail Shmakov presented Rustam Minnikhanov with an anniversary medal in honor of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia.
