Today, the Ministry hosted a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on the prevention and suppression of illegal harvesting, transportation, processing, sale and export of timber in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov. The event was attended by representatives of the Tatar Environmental Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office, the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office, the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Department of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Department of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Department of the Federal Tax Service of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Interregional Department Rosimushchestvo in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ulyanovsk region, a branch of FBU “Roslesozashchita” ‒ “Center for Forest Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan”, etc.
At the beginning of the meeting, Nadezhda Kuzyakina, Director of the FBU Roslesozashchita branch of the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Albert Kadyrov, Head of the Department of Phytosanitary Supervision and Supervision of Grain Quality and Seed Control of the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate for the Republic of Tatarstan. They talked about the ongoing work to ensure sanitary safety in forests and prevent the emergence of quarantine phytosanitary zones on the territory of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Further, the head of the department of state control and supervision of the Ministry, Ayrat Akhmerov, made a report on the operational and preventive measures “Lesovoz” and “Yel”.
“In the period from October 5 to November 5, another operation “Timber” took place in the republic. Within its framework, 218 joint raids were carried out with the participation of state forest inspectors and employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan. At stationary posts, 271 vehicles loaded with timber were stopped and inspected, ‒ said Ayrat Akhmerov. ‒ No violations were found. Regarding the two facts of timber transportation recorded earlier this year without an accompanying document drawn up in accordance with the established procedure, decisions were issued on the appointment of an administrative penalty, including one each ‒ in the form of a warning”.
The speaker also dwelled on the issues of conducting the “Spruce” operational-preventive measure in the period from December 20 to December 31, 2020. Thus, in the Republic of Tatarstan, mobile patrol groups will be created from among the employees of forestries and territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan, whose task will include systematic patrolling of forest areas with a predominance of coniferous plantations in the pre-New Year period. In addition, explanatory work will be carried out on the need to respect the forest and the inadmissibility of the destruction of coniferous young stands, on the liability established by law for illegal logging and damage to forest plantations.
At the end of the meeting, the work plan of the Interdepartmental Commission on the prevention and suppression of illegal harvesting, transportation, processing, sale and export of timber to the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021 was adopted.
