Today, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a lecture for employees of the Ministry and its subordinate institutions on the topic “On the practice of detecting corruption-related violations by prosecutors”. Olga Melnik, Deputy Prosecutor of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office, addressed the audience.
The event was opened by the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov. “On December 9, 2003, at the conference, the United Nations Convention against Corruption was opened for signature. Since then, on this day, we celebrate the International Day against Corruption, ‒ he said. ‒ The attitude towards corruption has always been negative, as it slows down economic development, weakens democratic institutions, undermines the foundations and disrupts public order. Therefore, the fight against corruption is one of the most important tasks facing the state and society”.
During her speech, Olga Melnik, Deputy Prosecutor of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office, spoke in detail about the aspects of submission of information by civil servants about their income, expenses, property and property obligations, as well as their spouses and minor children, the main mistakes made during filling out certificates. “The problematic issue is filling in the “Other income” subsection of the “Information on income” section, ‒ she stressed. ‒ Here it is necessary to indicate pensions, additional payments to them, scholarships, all types of benefits (temporary disability benefits, maternity benefits, childcare and others), if these payments were not included in the certificate in the form 2-NDFL, state certificate for maternity capital, if its funds were used in the reporting period, amounts due to children as alimony, pensions, benefits.”
Along with this, Olga Melnik dwelled on the ongoing work to combat corruption, prohibitions and restrictions related to the state civil service.
