Head of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov took part in a round table on improving the efficiency of forestry management

Today in the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on natural resources, property and land relations a round table was held in the videoconference mode on the issues of improving the efficiency of forestry management in the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Property and Land Relations Nikolai Nikolaev, State Duma Deputy of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Alexei Kanaev, representatives of forestry management bodies of the Volga and Ural Federal Districts, incl. from the Republic of Tatarstan Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov.

Nikolai Nikolaev recalled that following a meeting on the development and decriminalization of the forestry complex held on September 29, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin approved the list of instructions dated 06.11.2020 No. Pr-1816. In pursuance of these instructions, draft law No. 1054506-7 “On amendments to the Forest Code of the Russian Federation and certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation in terms of improving relations related to timber circulation” was submitted to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the implementation of the provisions of which will ensure reliable accounting and control of qualitative and quantitative characteristics of forest resources, traceability of timber, control of timber transactions, reduction of damage from illegal logging.

The roundtable participants discussed the implementation of the orders of the President of the Russian Federation, digitalization of the forestry complex, implementation of measures to support the industry, the introduction of a complete ban on the export of unprocessed and roughly processed wood of coniferous and valuable deciduous species, etc.
