Operation “Spruce” started in Tatarstan
In the Republic of Tatarstan, an operational and preventive measure “Spruce” has started. “More than 140 mobile patrol groups have been created from among the employees of forestries and territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan, ‒ said Ayrat Akhmerov, head of the department of state control and supervision of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. ‒ Their task includes daily patrolling of forest areas with a predominance of coniferous stands. The operation will last until December 31”.
We remind you that illegal logging and damage to forest plantations entails the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 3 to 4 thousand rubles, on officials ‒ from 20 to 40 thousand rubles, on legal entities ‒ from 200 to 300 thousand rubles. In addition, a person who has committed illegal felling will have to compensate for the damage caused to forests, which depends on the species of the felled tree and its place of growth, the category of forest protection.
In 2019, within the framework of Operation Spruce, 144 mobile patrol groups were created, over 365 raids were carried out, and 12 facts of illegal harvesting of spruce were revealed.
