The Center for Forest Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the results of work on identifying lands not occupied by forest plantations and requiring reforestation
In the branch of FBU “Roslesozashchita” “Center for Forest Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan” summed up the results of work on the identification (inventory) of lands not occupied by forest plantations and requiring reforestation, using technologies of remote sensing of the Earth. The work was carried out this year as part of the state assignment for the implementation of state monitoring of forest reproduction and the federal project “Preservation of Forests” on the lands of the forest fund of the Volzhsky, Tetyushsky, Menzelinsky, Mamadyshsky, Bilyarsky, Agryzsky, Buinsky, Cheremshansky and Leninogorsky forestries of the republic.
Based on the results of the survey and joint consideration with specialists from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, it was established that the reforestation fund in 9 forestries is 906.5 hectares.
Also, the specialists of the Center for Forest Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan gave recommendations on the choice of the method of reforestation (planting of forest cultures, afforestation, combined reforestation and assistance to natural reforestation).
