In 2021, in Tatarstan, within the framework of the regional project “Preservation of Forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the national project “Ecology”, it is planned to carry out reforestation work on an area of 3.8 thousand hectares. Thus, the planting of forest cultures will be carried out on an area of 1.4 thousand hectares, measures for natural reforestation ‒ on 2.3 thousand hectares, combined reforestation ‒ 4 hectares and afforestation ‒ 104 hectares.
Work on agrotechnical care of forest crops will be carried out on an area of 14.3 thousand hectares, their addition in the spring and autumn periods ‒ on 4.2 thousand hectares.
To carry out these works last year in the subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan ‒ forestry enterprises, 23.3 tons of seeds of the main forest-forming species were procured and 37.4 million pieces of standard planting material were grown.
For reference. The regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology” began to be implemented in 2019. Its main goal is to ensure a balance of forest depletion and reproduction in a ratio of 100 % by 2024. To achieve this goal, 2 target indicators have been established: “the ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of cut and dead forest stands, %” and “damage from forest fires, million rubles”. At the end of 2020, the values of the indicators amounted to 179 % and 0 rubles, respectively.
