The federal information fire-fighting campaign “Stop the fire!”
The Federal informational fire-fighting campaign “Stop the fire!” has started in Russia. It is aimed at reducing the risk of man-made natural fires, including those caused by unauthorized arson of dry grass.
The main cause of forest fires in spring is precisely the human factor. In particular, unauthorized burning of dry vegetation in fields, adjoining territories, summer cottages and other lands. So, according to the Federal Forestry Agency, in the spring of 2020, as a result of the transition of fire into the forest from the territory of lands of other categories, about 30% of the total number of forest fires were recorded.
In Russia, since 2015, the burning of dry vegetation on agricultural land, making fires in fields and other territories has been prohibited. At the same time, the requirements for the creation of fire barriers in territories adjacent to forest areas, the right of municipalities to create a municipal fire department, etc. were clarified.
Compliance with the simplest fire safety rules will minimize a significant number of spring forest fires. Stop the Fire Campaign is designed to attract the special attention of those who can be a potential cause of their occurrence. These are forest users, hunters, fishermen, tourists, agricultural workers in the territories adjacent to the lands of the forest fund.
The information campaign is being held for the fourth year in a row, it was initiated by the Society of Voluntary Forest Firefighters. The project is supported by the Federal Forestry Agency, FBU Avialesokhrana, EMERCOM of Russia, Agency for Strategic Initiatives, etc.
