On March 3 of this year, Raisa Stepanova, an engineer for reforestation of the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Leninogorsky forestry”, visited the MBOU “Secondary School No. 3” in Leninogorsk. There she gave a lesson on the topic “Planting forest cultures by mechanized and manual methods. Kolesov sword. Planting technique and depth. Autumn inventory.” for pupils of the school forestry “Dubki”.
During the lesson, the engineer told the students about the basic forest nurseries available in the republic, the peculiarities of growing standard planting material and technologies for creating forest crops.
“Planting of forest cultures is carried out by mechanized and manual methods. For mechanized planting, forest planting machines are used, manual ‒ Kolesov sword, ‒ said Raisa Stepanova. ‒ The Kolesov sword was invented in 1883 and named after its creator ‒ the director of the Kharkov Agricultural School Alexander Andreevich Kolesov”.
After the lecture, the work plan of the Dubki school forestry for the coming period was discussed.
