Today, the Ministry hosted command-staff exercises for the prevention and elimination of wildfires in the Republic of Tatarstan with the simultaneous development of the Consolidated plan for extinguishing forest fires in the Republic of Tatarstan with the involvement of the forces and means of the emergency prevention and elimination subsystem in 2021. The event was opened by the head of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “On the eve of a fire hazardous season, it is necessary to conduct exercises in the forests with the participation of representatives of the Ministry, its subordinate institutions, the Forest Fire Center and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan to work out interaction in case of emergencies when extinguishing forest and natural fires, ‒ he said. ‒ Previously, such events were conducted on site, but this year, due to the pandemic, we are forced to conduct command-staff exercises in this format.”

The head of the Forestry Department for the Volga Federal District, Alexander Ornatsky, in his welcoming speech, focused on the preparation for the fire hazardous season in the forests in the regions of the district, the inspection of forest fire stations and the changes in forestry legislation that came into force. “In particular, from this year tenants are obliged to participate in extinguishing forest fires in the leased forest areas,” recalled Alexander Ornatsky.
