First Deputy Minister Ilgizar Zaripov made a presentation at a meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies and Ensuring Fire Safety

Today, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov made a report at a meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies and Ensuring Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan. The topic of the meeting was the readiness of the territorial subsystem of the RSChS to prevent and eliminate wildfires on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, incl. on agricultural land. The meeting in the mode of videoconference in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan was held by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin.

During his speech, Ilgizar Zaripov reported on the readiness of the forces and means of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan to prevent and eliminate forest fires. He recalled that today the total area of the republic's lands occupied by forests is 1 million 272 thousand hectares, the forest cover is 17.5%. In order to detect and extinguish forest fires in the Republic of Tatarstan, there are 20 type II forest fire stations, 5 type III forest fire stations and 14 points of concentration of fire-fighting equipment. The number of forest fire units is 718 people, equipment ‒ 362 units of various equipment.

“According to the Consolidated plan for extinguishing forest fires on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, the forces and means of legal entities can be involved in the fight against forest fires ‒ these are 2485 people and 643 units of equipment and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan ‒ 731 people and 218 units of equipment”, said Ilgizar Zaripov.

In order to ensure fire safety in forests, space monitoring of the fire hazard situation, aviation (1.2 million hectares) and ground (11 thousand hectares) is provided. Also, the regional dispatching service of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center” (tel. 8-800-100-94-00, 8 (843) 221-37-95) works around the clock.

“Within the framework of the information campaign “Stop the fire!”  to date, 457 lectures, conversations and speeches have been held at gatherings of citizens of rural settlements, 287 leaflets, memos and brochures have been distributed, ‒ Ilgizar Zaripov added. ‒ In addition, work is currently being completed on the repair and completion of fire observation towers, firefighting equipment, equipment and inventory. In general, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan is ready for the fire hazardous season in forests”.
