Today in the Department of Forestry in the Volga Federal District, a meeting of the headquarters was held in the mode of videoconference to coordinate activities to extinguish forest fires in the Volga Federal District. The meeting was chaired by the head of the department, Alexander Ornatsky.
The event was attended by representatives of forestry management bodies of the Volga Federal District, incl. from the Republic of Tatarstan - First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov.
During the meeting, issues of the passage of a fire hazardous season in forests in the regions of the Volga Federal District were discussed. “This year the number of forest fires has increased compared to the same period last year. And this despite the fact that in 2021 the fire season in the forests was opened later, - stated the head of the department, Alexander Ornatsky. - Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen control over ensuring fire safety in the forests and to carry out all fire-prevention measures in a timely manner.”
The head of the department also dwelled on the issues of interdepartmental interaction, forest fire propaganda, procurement of forest fire equipment and fire-fighting equipment within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of Forests” of the national project “Ecology”, etc.
