Employees of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Roslesozashchita” – “Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan” began observing the populations of pests using pheromone traps. So, yesterday, April 26, experts installed pheromone traps for catching the bark beetle-typographer on the territory of the forest fund of the Lubyanka forestry.
“This method makes it possible to timely determine the beginning of an increase in the number of forest pests, which is especially important for the application of preventive and effective forest protection measures, - said Venera Efremenkova, deputy head of the branch. - In the future, it is planned to conduct an inventory of captured insects, in accordance with the methodological instructions of VNIILM, every 5-10 days.”
