Voting has started on the competition “Russian Tree of the Year – 2021”

On May 1 on the website http://rosdrevo.ru/russian-tree-of-the-year/# voting on the competition “Russian tree of the year – 2021” started. It is organized by the NPSA “Healthy Forest”.

This year, the list of contenders for the victory has significantly increased - a total of 47 unique historical trees have been declared. The Republic of Tatarstan is represented by Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.), which grows on the territory of the Dolgaya Polyana State Nature Reserve of regional significance with a complex profile. This tree received the status of the All-Russian value “Tree - a monument of wildlife” in 2012. The spruce is 134 years old and over 30 meters high.

Voting will last until August 1 of the current year. Let us remind you that the Russian Tree of the Year competition is a national qualifying stage for the European Tree of the Year international competition, which has been held since 2011.
