The Ministry discussed issues of ensuring fire safety in forests

A videoconference meeting was held at the Ministry to discuss issues of ensuring fire safety in forests. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. The event was attended by Deputy Ministers of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov, Rais Gumerov, Business Manager Elmira Shagaeva, employees of the Ministry, heads of forestry, and directors of forestry enterprises of the republic.

The meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the shooting at the MBOU “Gymnasium No. 175” in Kazan.

Ilgizar Zaripov, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, made a keynote speech at the meeting. “Since May 10, abnormally hot weather has been established on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan with average daily temperatures of 9 degrees or more above the norm, - he said. - The heatwave is expected to last until May 20.”

According to the First Deputy Minister, in the coming period in the Republic of Tatarstan, the IV class of fire hazard in forests is forecasted. “Therefore, foresters and directors of forestry enterprises need to ensure the implementation of all fire-prevention measures, take timely measures to eliminate fires near the lands of the forest fund, and continue active campaigning and explanatory work among the population on the observance of fire safety rules in forests,” added Ilgizar Zaripov.

The results of the meeting were summed up by the head of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “I also ask you to strengthen patrolling of forest lands and consider the possibility of attracting additional voluntary fire brigades. Our common task is to pass the fire hazardous season in forests without emergencies,” Ravil Kuzyurov emphasized.
