In the Republic of Tatarstan, an operational and preventive measure “Lesovoz” is being held. Its goal is to prevent and suppress illegal logging, transportation, and processing of timber in the republic.
“Operation “Lesovoz” started on May 15 and will last until June 15 this year, - said the head of the department of state control and supervision of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ayrat Akhmerov. - Within its framework, raids are carried out with the participation of state forest inspectors and employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan, who check the legality of timber transportation. Also, joint shifts are organized at stationary posts of the traffic police of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.”
We remind you that the transportation of timber without an accompanying document drawn up by the forest legislation procedure entails the imposition of an administrative fine on officials for 30 to 50 thousand rubles with confiscation of timber and (or) vehicles that are an instrument of committing an administrative offense, or without it; for legal entities - from 500 to 700 thousand rubles with or without confiscation of timber and (or) vehicles that are an instrument of committing an administrative offense.
