In the Forest Seed Breeding Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, work is being carried out to sow the second rotation of seeds of coniferous and deciduous species. “We started sowing on May 17, 3 shifts of 8 people each were organized. We plan to complete it in 6 days, - said the director of the center Ruslan Gazizov. - In total, 4 million seeds of pine, birch, and tree caragana will be sown. At the same time, work is underway to transport seedlings of the first rotation to the growing fields.”

Recall that the production of standard planting material is an additional indicator of the regional project “Preservation of Forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of Forests” of the national project “Ecology”. In 2020, 37.4 million pieces of seedlings were grown in the LSSTS RT and basic forest nurseries of the republic, including conifers - 28.8 million pieces, hardwood - 7.5 million pieces, shrubs - 1.1 million pieces.

This year it is planned to grow at least 30.9 million pieces of standard planting material.
