The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan is carrying out preparatory work for compensatory reforestation within the framework of the project for the construction of the M-12 “Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod – Kazan” highway.
“According to the project, during the construction of this route, it is planned to transfer forest lands with a total area of about 300 hectares to industrial lands, - said Ilgizar Zaripov, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. - According to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated May 7, 2019, No. 566, in the case of transfer of forest lands to lands of other categories, compensatory reforestation must be carried out.”
According to the First Deputy Minister, work on compensatory reforestation will be completed this autumn. “Currently, the Ministry, together with the administrations of municipal districts, is completing the selection of sites adjacent to the future highway within the boundaries of Kaibitsky, Verkhneuslonsky, Laishevsky, and Pestrechinsky municipal districts, - added Ilgizar Zaripov. - It is expected that shortly an auction will be held, according to the results of which the executors of work on compensatory reforestation will be determined. It should be noted that the subordinate institutions of the Ministry - forestry enterprises have all the means and resources to carry out these works - the necessary equipment, high-quality standard planting material, and highly qualified specialists.”
