Today the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov met with the head of the Department of Forest Reproduction and Protection of the Federal Forestry Agency Alexander Kuzenko. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister Rais Gumerov and Head of the Department of Forest Reproduction and Afforestation of the Ministry Timur Galiev.
Opening the meeting, Ravil Kuzyurov acquainted Alexander Kuzenko with the history and current state of forestry in the Republic of Tatarstan, the ongoing work on the protection, protection, and reproduction of forests. In particular, he said that the total area of the republic's lands occupied by forests is 1 million 269 thousand hectares, the forest cover is 17.5%. “The forestry complex management system is represented by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and 64 subordinate institutions - 31 state treasury institutions Lesnichestvo, 31 state budgetary institutions Leskhoz, Lubyanka Forestry College and Forest Fire Center,” Ravil Kuzyurov said.
In turn, Alexander Kuzenko noted that Tatarstan is among the leading regions in the implementation of the delegated powers of the Russian Federation in the field of forest relations. “Since 2012, you have successfully operated a forest selection and seed-growing center, where planting material with a closed root system is grown. We have also heard a lot about the implementation of innovations in the industry,” he said.
Further, the meeting participants discussed the possibilities of increasing the efficiency of forestry management, innovations in forestry legislation, implementation of the federal project “Preservation of Forests” of the national project “Ecology”, the cultivation of standard planting material, work on compensatory reforestation, sanitary and recreational activities, etc.
After the meeting, Alexander Kuzenko visited the Ministry's Forest Museum. The excursion was led by the director of the museum, Ilgiz Zaripov.
Also, as part of a working trip to Tatarstan, Alexander Kuzenko visited the state natural reserve of the regional significance of the integrated profile “Blue Lakes” and the basic forest nursery of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Educational and Experimental Prigorodny Forestry”. It is expected that tomorrow, June 17, the head of the Department of Forest Reproduction and Protection of Rosleskhoz will visit the Forest Seed Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, the woodworking plant of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Educational and Experimental Sabinsky Forestry”, on June 18 - to evaluate the work of the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Kaibitsky Forestry” and the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Kaibitskiy special forestry enterprise”.
