Employees of Arsky forestry enterprise started the work on the harvesting of illiquid timber
Employees of the State Budgetary Institution of the RT "Arsky forestry enterprise" have started works on gathering illiquid timber. "At present, the works are conducted in the compartment 11 of Baltasinsky district forestry and compartment 119 of Tukaysky district forestry, 24 people are involved", - informed Niyaz Salyakhov, director of the forestry.
According to him all in all this year illegal timber will be cleaned at the area of 28.5 hectares in the territory of Arsky forestry.
For reference. Illicit timber - timber that can not be used for commercial purposes because of loss of its technical qualities because of damage by decay, as well as a result of fires and other natural disasters. The removal of illiquid timber is performed in the places of windthrow, deadwood, snowdrift, top fires, and other damages when the illiquid timber exceeds 90% of the total stock of dead trees. First of all, works are performed in specially protected areas, recreational areas, forest parks, forests performing sanitary and health-improving functions, protective strips along roads, in memorial plantations, and other especially valuable forest areas. On lands of other designated purposes and other categories of protective forests, the harvesting of unliquidated timber is carried out in case of threat of pests or fire safety.
