Kazan hosted a regular meeting of the interdepartmental working group on climate policy and decarbonization
Today the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on climate policy and decarbonization of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was attended by Airat Shigapov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Chief State Inspector for Environmental Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, Timur Galiev, Head of Forest Reproduction and Afforestation Department of the RT Ministry of Forestry, and others.
During the working meeting, its participants discussed the issues of environmental protection and improvement of environmental safety of the existing production facilities. Topics of greenhouse gas emissions accounting, implementation of scientific projects, and development of new technologies in the field of monitoring and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions were also touched upon.
During the meeting, Timur Galiev familiarized the attendees with the works being held on reforestation and afforestation in the Republic of Tatarstan and the possibilities for absorption of greenhouse gases by forest plantations.
