In the Zelenodolsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan, a set of measures is being carried out for the fire-prevention arrangement of forests. Within its framework, on the territory of the forest fund of Zelenodolsk forestry, 199 km of new fire-prevention mineralized belts were created and the existing barriers with a total length of 213.5 km were maintained.
"The creation and cleaning of mineralized strips play an important role in forest fire prevention. After all, they create barriers that prevent the spread of fire over the surface of the earth in a ground fire," said Damir Zakirov, deputy head-forester of the RT Zelenodolsk forestry. "Also, at present, due to the high class of fire hazard in forests, patrolling of forest lands and control over compliance with fire safety rules in forests continues."
