Today in the House of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan a meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies and Ensuring Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan was held. The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin, the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Khabibullin, representatives of executive authorities and organizations, chairmen and members of commissions of municipal districts of the republic.
At the meeting, the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov made a presentation on the topic "On the passage of a fire hazardous season in the forests of the Republic of Tatarstan". "This year in the Republic of Tatarstan the fire hazardous season in the forests is not easy. In connection with the abnormal heat and high class of fire hazard, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan for the fourth time passed a resolution on the introduction of restrictions on the stay of citizens in forests and the entry of vehicles into them for 21 calendar days. The restrictions are established with forests located on the lands of the forest fund of the republic, until August 22, 2021, inclusive," said Ravil Kuzyurov. "The Ministry has prepared another similar draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, which is currently under interdepartmental agreement."
According to the minister, to date, 12.4 thousand cases of forest and natural fires have been recorded on the territory of the Russian Federation on a total area of 9.5 million hectares. The largest number of fires occurred in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Irkutsk regions, and Krasnodar Territory. In the Volga Federal District, 1.4 thousand cases of forest and natural fires were registered on a total area of 21.9 thousand hectares.
"According to the Information System of Remote Monitoring of the Federal Forestry Agency, 992 thermal points were registered in the Republic of Tatarstan as of August 19, which is 1.7 times more than the indicators of the same period last year," Ravil Kuzyurov said. "Also this year there were 11 forest fires on a total area of 105.94 hectares. The last forest fire happened yesterday, August 18, on the territory of the Almetyevsky forestry. This was the first time that the fire passed into the stage of a crown fire. In all cases, prompt measures were taken, forest fires were extinguished within 3-5 hours from the moment of detection, for which we are grateful to the Main Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan and the heads of rural settlements."
In general, the number of forest fire units in the Republic of Tatarstan is 718 people, equipment - 362 units of various equipment. In the event of an emergency, the forces and means of legal entities - 2485 people and 643 units of equipment and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan - 731 people and 218 units of equipment can be involved in the fight against forest fires.
To prevent forest fires in the Republic of Tatarstan, a set of measures is being carried out for the fire-prevention arrangement of forests. Within its framework, in the current year, 2,395 km of new fire-fighting mineralized belts were created and maintenance of the existing mineralized belts with a total length of 4807 km was carried out. Work was carried out on the construction of fire-fighting roads with a total length of 93 km and reconstruction of the existing ones - 312 km. In addition, 137 recreation areas for citizens staying in the forests were improved and 516 information stands, notices, and fire-fighting boards were installed.
"Campaigning and explanatory work continues among the population on the observance of fire safety rules in forests. Within the framework of the information campaign "Stop the fire!" to date, 1488 lectures, conversations, and speeches have been held at gatherings of citizens of rural settlements, 143 lessons in educational institutions, 11 thousand leaflets, memos, and brochures have been distributed," the minister concluded.
