Autumn silvicultural season opened in Tatarstan
In the Republic of Tatarstan, the autumn silvicultural season is opened. In its framework the staff of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of RT – forestry enterprises are to conduct works on assisting natural afforestation on the area of 1,7 thousand ha, the establishment of protective forest plantations on 212 ha on lands of agricultural purpose, on 365 ha within Aznakaevsky municipal district, afforestation on 2 thousand ha and soil preparation for forestry crops of next year - on 1,4 thousand ha.
Besides, experts in the forestry branch plan to procure more than 11 thousand kg of seeds of basic forest forming breeds and make an inventory of planting material in basic forest nurseries.
According to the forest reproduction and afforestation department of Forestry Ministry of Forestry of RT, as of September 2 this year 702 kg of seeds of main forest forming species were harvested, including pine - 378 kg, spruce - 207 kg, larch - 22 kg, birch - 70 kg and linden - 25 kg. We remind that the harvesting of seeds of forest plants is an additional indicator of the regional project "Preservation of Forests in the Republic of Tatarstan" of the federal project " Preservation of Forests" of the national project "Ecology".
