National project "Ecology": in Tatarstan, work was carried out to promote natural reforestation on an area of 700 hectares
In Tatarstan, the implementation of the regional project "Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan" of the federal project "Preservation of forests" of the national project "Ecology" continues. Within its framework, as of September 21 of this year, work was carried out in the republic to promote natural reforestation on an area of 700 hectares. This method of forest reproduction provides for the creation of favorable conditions for the natural renewal of valuable species undergrowth through mineralization of the soil surface, natural overgrowth, and preservation of undergrowth when felling trees. In total, such work this year will be performed on an area of 2324 hectares.
Recall that earlier this year, according to a regional project, employees of the subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan - forestry enterprises - carried out reforestation work on an area of 1531 hectares. Of these, planting of forest cultures - on 1422 hectares, afforestation - on 105 hectares, combined reforestation - on 4 hectares.

The regional project "Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan" within the framework of the federal project "Preservation of forests" of the national project "Ecology" began to be implemented in 2019. Its main goal is to ensure a balance of forest depletion and reproduction in a ratio of 100% by 2024. To achieve this goal, 2 target indicators have been established: "the ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of cutting down and deadforest stands, %" and "damage from forest fires, million rubles".
