“During the period of extensive wild fires in 2013, owing to coherent cooperation, we managed to escape wild fires on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is important to note that fellow workers of forestland of the Republic of Tatarstan were engaged both in response to the occurring thermal abnormalities, and in the search of citizens lost in the woodland, which ensured timely response, control and prevention of emergency situations and death of people”, it is said in the honorary mention of the Minister Rafis Khabibullin.

In the course of the interview with the editorial director of public and political programs of the state radio Yulduz Krepostina the Minister noted that Tatarstan is the only region in the Volga Federal District where no forest fires have occurred for three years in a row. In the outgoing year, forestries started to plant containerized tree seedlings grown at the Forest Selective Seed Center, and they also started to prepare wood for the largest in Europe plant “Kastamonu Integrated Wood industry”. “We are the only region that has managed to find the way out, namely to apply soft-wooded broadleaf timber that is in little demand. This helps us to revive forestry engineering industry of Tatarstan”, emphasized the Minister.
