St. Petersburg Forest Engineering University has one of the oldest forest university buildings in the world. It established a reputation of a leader and gives a guarantee of qualified professional education. It is known in forest community as dynamically developed scientific center of Russia.
Republic of Tatarstan has a long history of collaboration with St. Petersburg Forest Engineering University. With this university are connected names of well-known research-foresters, Tatar representatives, members of Russian academy of natural science, professor, doctor of agricultural science – Agliullin F. V. and professor, doctor of agricultural science – Zagreev V.V.
Nowadays scientists and specialists of forest engineering university lend practical support in scientific forestry maintenance of Republic. They organized internship of tatar specialists in Finland.
Ministry of Forestry of Republic of Tatarstan finished work on landscape gardening and beautification of the Craft producers territory, Doctor’s house and Khan’s palace in Bolgari.
With the help of Bolgar’s forestry members and state-finance institution “Bolgarles” on the territory of Bolgar was planted 650 trees and shrubs. In the day of forest planting on the way to the place of ceremonial event, dedicated to Official Acceptance of Islam in Volzhskaya Bulgaria, foresters and local residents planted fir-trees, pines, mountain ashes and different kinds of apple trees. All trees were given by forest nurseries free of charge.
After finishing tree-planting works on the territory of Timber Fund, the members of Tetushskii forestry made environment-oriented action “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” and cleaned up places of unauthorized landfills near the roads and highways. They also cleaned up the territory where one of the traditional tatar holidays “Sabantui” is going to happen.
In the frames of the Year of ecological culture and environmental control in Tatarstan and European Park’s Day, which is traditionally celebrated on 24th of May, in the winter garden of National Museum of Republic of Tatarstan, takes place the presentation of catalogue “Gardens and Parks of Kazan”. In this catalogue, which is created by M.Novikova, G. Yupina, is represented information about gardens and parks of Kazan, and also more than 200 photos, many of which are published for the first time. In the ceremony of presentation will take place the representatives of Ministry of Forestry of RT. They gave out 100 planting stocks such as fir-trees, pines, mountain ashes, snowball trees free of charge which they are going to plant near the museum in the park square of Profsoyuznaya St. All these planting trees were grown in forest nurseries of suburb Zelenodolsk.

In accordance with the Protocol of meetings where discussed questions about restoration and construction works in Sviyazhsk-island, the specialists of Privolzhskii forestry in coordination with members of executive committee of Zelenodolskii region and with the help of forestry students planted trees and bushes on the territory of renewed significant site of Russian culture.
Guests are getting acquainted with the work of forestry, objects of forest-based sectors and also historical sightseeing of Republic. They visited Sviyazhsk-island where the specialists of Privolzhskii forestry waited for them with traditional bread-and-salt and chak-chak.
To take part on Saturday volunteer work went almost all the local residents of village including the head of Kichketanskii settlement Z. Nuriev. Really big help in tree planting came from the master of Sharshadinskii section of Agrizskii forestry region Z. Karimov. The head of forestry “Agrizskoe lesnichestvo” A. Danilov thanked all the volunteers and also said that he hoped to make tree planting as a tradition.
For the major contribution to nature and ecological protection activities and active involvement in forester savings events in RT, Ministry of forestry gave out prizes to pensioner Ravil Zakirov and collective of Yangulovskaya school. On the ceremony was invited the winners of “March of Parks 2012” – Iskander Shafigullin( Yangulskaya school), Fanis Kabirov (Arborskaya school) and Illuza Gabbasova (Shishenerskaya school). All creative craft works of children were highly evaluated by representatives of Baltasinskii municipal educational institution, by representatives of Ministry of Forestry of RT and specialists of “Baltasinskii” reserved forest.
In Tetushi took place regional seminar for members of preschool facilities. In the program of seminar there was a visiting of reserved forest “Dolgaya Polyana” where the participants got acquainted with ecology-regional studies of this reserved forest. Children from “Skazka” day-care center made a special program about environmental protection and read some poems about native lands for their guests.
The coordinator of program “Eco-school “Green Flag” O. Madison, the manager of international coordination center of program “Forest Studies”, Nina Fon Reesly (Norway) and the representatives of preschool facilities of Russia and Tatarstan looked over reserved forest “Dolgaya Polyana” and highly evaluated work of their specialists in ecological education of new generation.
