The Ministry hosted a lecture on the prevention of natural focal diseases

Today, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted an online lecture on the topic "Prevention of natural focal diseases, as well as diseases common to humans and animals". Its listeners were the heads and specialists of the structural divisions of the Ministry, the heads of the foresters of the forestry, the directors of the forestry enterprises of the republic.

Specialist-expert of the Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare in the Republic of Tatarstan Nazira Galimzyanova made a presentation. During her speech, she spoke about such natural focal infections as hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, tick-borne viral encephalitis, tick-borne borreliosis (Lyme disease), rabies, tularemia, anthrax, and leptospirosis infection (leptospirosis). She elaborated on the symptoms of diseases, methods of treatment, and basic preventive measures.

In particular, Nazira Galimzyanova said that vaccination is the main reliable way to prevent tick-borne encephalitis. "When visiting the forest, you must wear protective clothing and use repellents," she said. "In the case of a tick sucking, it must be removed, then go to the infectious diseases hospital for testing for infection with tick-borne encephalitis and other infections. If the test is positive, the victim is injected with immunoglobulin against tick-borne encephalitis. Its introduction is most effective within 1 day after the tick bite, 4 days after the tick bite it is not carried out."
