Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan invites residents of the republic to join the All-Russian action "Save the forest"

On October 9 this year, in the municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, a mass planting of trees will be organized as part of the All-Russian campaign "Save the forest". It is expected that more than 1 million pieces of planting material will be planted (Scots pine, European spruce, Siberian larch, small-leaved linden, mountain ash, etc.).

Near Kazan, the action will take place at four sites - near the Tarlashi village of Laishevsky district (site coordinates - 55.568590, 49.142142), the Staroe Shigaleevo village of the Pestrechinsky district (55.815919, 49.528751), the Kulseitovo residential area in Kazan (55.912385, 49.229715) and near the Ivanovka village Vysokogorsky district (55.956983, 49.325805). The action starts at 10:00. Gloves, shovels, and seedlings will be handed out on site.

Last year, 1.2 million pieces were planted in the Republic of Tatarstan as part of the All-Russian campaign "Save the Forest". planting material on an area of 310 hectares.

It should be reminded that the republican nature conservation actions for planting trees have been carried out by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2011. Their goal is to foster respect for the forest, to draw public attention to the problems of preserving and increasing forest resources. For 10 years, as part of the campaigns in Tatarstan, new forest plantations were planted on an area of more than 6.5 thousand hectares, 25 million planting material was used, and the total number of participants exceeded 435 thousand people.

For reference. For the first time, the All-Russian campaign "Save the Forest" was held in the country in 2019. For two years, its participants have planted more than 82 million trees. The environmental initiative has become rightfully considered one of the largest in Russia.

This year, the All-Russian campaign "Save the Forest" started on August 21 in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Its goal is to plant 70 million trees in support of the region's hardest hit by wildfires. The organizers of the action are the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Federal Forestry Agency, ANO National Priorities, and ANO Sad of Memory.
