The Ministry discussed the development of exchange trade in timber and timber in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan

Today the Ministry hosted a meeting on the development of exchange trade in timber and timber on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Rais Gumerov. The event was attended by Sergey Kostromin, Head of the Department for the Development of the Forest and Timber Market of St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, Niyaz Imamiev, Head of the Department of Property Management, Technical Development and Labor Protection of the Ministry, and directors of the republic's forestry enterprises.

The meeting was opened by Deputy Minister Rais Gumerov. "Following the list of instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin following a meeting on the development and decriminalization of the forestry complex in September 2020, Federal Law No. 304-FZ was adopted this year, according to which, starting from January 1, 2022, requirements for the compulsory sale of timber harvested by state (municipal) institutions at exchange auctions", he stressed. "We are gathered here to discuss this issue and inform about the upcoming changes."

The main report was made by Sergey Kostromin, Head of the Department for the Development of the Forest and Timber Market at St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. He focused on the issues of accreditation and preparation of institutions for work on the exchange floor.
