In Tatarstan, work on reforestation has been completed within the framework of the regional project "Preservation of Forests in the Republic of Tatarstan" of the federal project "Preservation of Forests" of the national project "Ecology". In total, the work was carried out on an area of 3855 hectares, of which planting of forest crops - on 1422 hectares, measures for natural reforestation - on 2324 hectares, combined reforestation - 4 hectares, and afforestation - 105 hectares.

"One of the target indicators of the regional project is“ The ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and dead forest stands,% ”. It is calculated as follows: in 2019, the area of deforestation as a result of clear-cutting of ripe, overmature stands and clear sanitary felling amounted to 2,496 hectares, the area of dead forest plantations - 167 hectares. The area of reforestation in 2021 is 3855 hectares. So, the value of the target indicator is 144%," said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. "Thus, we have achieved the target designated for implementation in 2024, ensuring the balance of forest disposal and reproduction in the ratio of 100%."

Let us remind that additional indicators of the regional project "Preservation of Forests in the Republic of Tatarstan" are "Stock of seeds of forest plants for reforestation and afforestation, kg" and "Amount of grown planting material of forest plants, thousand pieces". Their planned values for the current year are 11455 kg of seeds and 30863 thousand pieces of seedlings, respectively.

As of October 26, 2021, specialists of the subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan - forestry enterprises collected 1224.25 kg of seeds of the main forest-forming species. The results of the inventory of planting material in the basic forest nurseries will be known in November this year.
