Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan: in 2021, 33 million pieces of planting material were grown for reforestation within the framework of the Ecology national project
In the Republic of Tatarstan, an inventory of planting material in basic forest nurseries has been completed. Thus, according to the Department of Forest Reproduction and Afforestation of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, a total of 33 million pieces of seedlings and seedlings were grown this year, including 12 million pieces with a closed root system in the Forest Seed Breeding Center of the Republic of Tatarstan. Of these, coniferous species - 24.6 million pieces, deciduous species - 7.7 million pieces, shrubs - 0.7 million pieces.
"The production of planting material is an additional indicator of the regional project "Preservation of Forests in the Republic of Tatarstan" within the framework of the federal project "Preservation of Forests" of the national project "Ecology", said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. "This year we have exceeded the plan by 7% and have grown 33 million seedlings. This amount is sufficient to carry out work on reforestation and afforestation within the framework of a regional project in 2022."
Let us remind that there are 51 basic forest nurseries in total in the Republic of Tatarstan. Also, forestry specialists grow planting material in greenhouses. This practice is common in Privolzhsky, Isleitarsky, Bugulminsky, Arsky and other forestry enterprises.
