The meeting of the Commission on prevention and suppression of illegal logging, transportation, processing, sale, and export of timber was held in the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan
Today in the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan took place the session of the Interdepartmental Commission on Prevention and Suppression of the illegal logging, transportation, processing, realization, and export of wood in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was held by videoconference and was chaired by Ilgizar Zaripov, the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan.
At the beginning of the meeting, the acting director of the branch of FBU "Roslesozashchita" "Center of Forest Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan" Venera Efremenkova Venera Efremenkova, Head of the department for phytosanitary surveillance and oversight over the quality of grain and seed control of the Rosselkhoznadzor Department for RT, Albert Kadyrov and Alexey Mosunov, Head of the Forestry Protection and Conservation Sector of the Ministry. They told about the activities aimed at ensuring sanitary safety in the forests and preventing the emergence of quarantine phytosanitary zones in the territory of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Then Airat Akhmerov, Head of the State Control and Supervision Department of the Ministry, made a report about the operational and preventive measure "Spruce". "From December 20 till December 31, 2021, an operation "Spruce" will be conducted in the Republic of Tatarstan. Within its framework forest patrolling will be organized to prevent illegal felling of coniferous trees," he said. "Patrolling will be conducted by mobile groups consisting of employees of forestry enterprises and territorial departments of MIA of the Republic of Tatarstan".
"In addition within the frames of operation "Spruce" it is planned to run explanatory work among the population about the necessity of careful attitude to forest and inadmissibility of destroying coniferous young growth, about responsibility for illegal felling and damage to forest plantations established by legislation," added Airat Akhmerov.
At the end of the meeting, the results of the work of the Interdepartmental Commission for prevention and suppression of illegal logging, transportation, realization, and export of timber in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2021 were discussed and the tasks for the next year were discussed.
