The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan reminds of the rules for collecting deadwood

In connection with numerous appeals, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan reminds us that following Federal Law No. 77-FZ of 18.04.2018 “On Amendments to Article 32 of the Forest Code of the Russian Federation”, citizens can freely collect deadwood in the forests for their own needs.

Deadwood refers to dry branches or trunks of trees that have fallen to the ground as a result of storms, windbreaks, or significant snowfalls, but are not logging residues at the site of logging operations.

Deadwood can be harvested without felling of forest plantations exclusively by hand using tools, devices, and mechanisms brought into use by hand (axes, hand saws).
