Operation “Spruce” started in Tatarstan

Today in the Republic of Tatarstan an operational and preventive measure “Spruce” has started. “More than 150 mobile patrol groups have been created from among state forest inspectors and specialists from territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan,” said Ayrat Akhmerov, head of the department of state control and supervision of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “They will conduct daily patrols of forest areas with a predominance of coniferous stands. The operation will last until December 31.”

We remind you that illegal felling, damage to forest plantations entails the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens for 3 to 4 thousand rubles, on officials - from 20 to 40 thousand rubles, on legal entities - from 200 to 300 thousand rubles. In addition, a person who has committed illegal felling will have to compensate for the damage caused to forests, which depends on the species of the felled tree and the place of its growth, the category of forest protection.

In 2020, within the framework of Operation Spruce, 156 mobile patrol groups were created, 593 raids were carried out, and 18 facts of illegal harvesting of spruce were revealed.
