The Center for Forest Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, a branch of the FBU Roslesozashchita, summed up the results of the work carried out in 2021 on state monitoring of forest reproduction.
In the course of the work to identify (inventory) lands that are not occupied by forest plantations and require reforestation and an inventory of the reforestation fund, field surveys were carried out on the lands of the forest fund of Kamsky, Kyzyl-Yulduzsky, Arsky, Isleytarsky and Elabuzhsky forestries using remote sensing technologies (RSS) forestries on a total area of 242.7 hectares (87 plots). Based on their results, it was revealed that 81 plots (93.1% of the total number of surveyed plots) on a total area of 232.3 hectares (95.7%) correspond to the interpretation data of remote sensing data. Thus, taking into account joint consideration with the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tajikistan, it was determined that the reforestation fund in the 5 forest areas that are the objects of work in 2021 is 236.6 hectares.
The assessment of the characteristics of forest plantations was carried out during field surveys following the schedule for 2021. A total of 23 sites were surveyed, classified as lands on which forests are located, on an area of 110 hectares. Checks were carried out in Lubyansky, Menzelinsky, and Cheremshansky forest areas.
Also last year, the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan assessed the characteristics of 42 batches of planting material in the nurseries of Zelenodolsk, Arsky, Aksubaevsky, Kaibitsky forestries, and the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan. The condition of crops in the examined nurseries was found to be satisfactory. No signs of damage by insect pests were found, care is carried out promptly, following the plan, black fallows are kept in a clean state.
Along with this, in 2021, specialists checked 276 batches of forest plant seeds, including 165 freshly harvested seeds (41,438.35 kg) and 84 stored seeds (1,075.65 kg).
