Forest industry specialists hold events dedicated to the International Day of Forests in educational institutions of the republic
On March 21, 2022, the world will celebrate the International Day of Forests. On the eve of the holiday, the specialists of the forest industry of the republic hold various events in preschool and educational institutions of Tatarstan.
Thus, the reforestation engineer of the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Menzelinsky forestry” Venera Fasteeva organized a seminar on the topic “The role of the forest in nature and human life” in the MBOU “Secondary School No. 2” in Menzelinsk. Within its framework, the protective, water protection, economic and social functions of forests, areas of environmental protection, types of forest profile professions, etc. were considered.
Marcel Khannanov, Deputy Chief Forester of the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Menzelinsky forestry”, held a lesson “Forest is our wealth” at the Menzelinsky Boarding School. He spoke about the silviculture, forest protection, and forestry work carried out in the republic, recalled the rules of fire and sanitary safety in forests.
“Forests are the lungs of our planet, they are involved in shaping the climate, they provide us with oxygen, they process harmful emissions, they conserve water resources, they are the habitat for many plants and animals, they provide food and a healthy environment for people, they help preserve the fertility of soils and landscapes,” Marcel Khannanov noted during the meeting.
The local forest ranger of the Voskhodsky district forestry of the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Nurlatsky forestry” Ildar Yusupov gave a lecture on the topic “Reforestation and afforestation” at the MBOU “Yakushkinsky secondary school” of the Nurlatsky district. Students learned about the features of harvesting seeds of forest plants, growing standard planting material, and planting forest crops.
At the end of the lecture, Ildar Yusupov invited schoolchildren to take part in the sowing of seeds in the forest nursery in the spring.
