Congratulation of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan R. A. Kuzyurov on the International Day of Forests
Dear Tatarstanians!
Every year on March 21, the world celebrates the International Day of Forests. The main goal of this ecological holiday is to remind all the inhabitants of the planet about the most important climatic, water protection, anti-erosion, economic and social functions of forests, the need for a responsible and careful attitude towards them.
To date, forests in Tatarstan cover an area of 1,268,000 hectares. There is also a network of protective forest plantations created on agricultural lands, along highways, around rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. Over the past 10 years alone, such forest belts have been laid in the republic on an area of over 20,000 hectares. Taking into account all protective forest plantations, at present, the forest cover of the region is about 20%.
Systematic work is being carried out in Tatarstan to improve the efficiency of forest management, ensure the rational and continuous use of forest resources. A course towards the modernization and digitalization of the forest complex is being implemented, all industry institutions are equipped with modern forest patrol, forestry, forest fire, and logging equipment. In total, 2.5 thousand people stand guard over the forest. I sincerely thank you for your hard but noble work. You are specialists of the highest qualification, who annually create thousands of hectares of forest plantations in the republic, carry out effective state forest control (supervision), protect forests from fires, protect them from pests and diseases.
I want to express special words of gratitude to the residents of the republic for their indifferent attitude to the forest and active participation in the environmental campaigns “Garden of Memory”, “Let's Save the Forest” and “Clean Forests of Tatarstan”. Each of you makes an invaluable contribution to the preservation of the environment, contributes to the development of the forest industry, conservation and enhancement of forest resources for future generations.
