23 March 2022, Wednesday

Tatarstan is preparing to carry out reforestation work within the framework of the regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology”. “Currently, the forestry enterprises are carrying out repairs and maintenance of forestry equipment and other means of the machine and tractor fleet involved in the implementation of reforestation and afforestation activities. The necessary silvicultural equipment is also being purchased,” said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “It is expected that the silvicultural season will open in mid-April this year.”

Recall that in 2022, in the republic, under the national project “Ecology”, reforestation will be carried out on an area of 3.6 thousand hectares. Including planting of the forest, crops will be carried out on an area of 1.4 thousand hectares, natural reforestation - on 2.1 thousand hectares, combined reforestation - on 4 hectares, and afforestation - on 104 hectares.

“All work will be carried out following the established requirements in timely agrotechnical terms,” added Ravil Kuzyurov. “Last year, forest industry specialists grew 34.1 million pieces of standard planting material. This amount will be enough not only for reforestation but also for laying protective forest plantations.”

For reference. The regional project “Preservation of forests in the Republic of Tatarstan” within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of forests” of the national project “Ecology” began to be implemented in 2019. Its main goal is to ensure a balance between the disposal and reproduction of forests in the ratio of 100% by 2024. To achieve this goal, 2 target indicators have been set: “the ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of cutting down and dead forest plantations, %” and “damage from forest fires, million rubles”.
