Today, a videoconference meeting was held on the issues of laying water protection protective forest plantations along the banks of the Volga and Kama rivers. The discussion was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov, Deputy Ministers of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Shigapov, Olga Manidicheva, Head of the Department of Reforestation and Afforestation of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Timur Galiev and others.
First Deputy Minister Ilgizar Zaripov made a brief report. “To date, the Ministry has selected sites for laying water protection protective forest plantations on a total area of 300 hectares. Some of them are located on the lands of the forest fund, some on the lands of settlements,” he said.
Further, the issues of drafting projects for the creation of water-protective forest plantations, the possible timing of the work, etc. were considered.
Recall that the project on laying water protection protective forest plantations is aimed at solving the problem of diffuse pollution of the Volga and Kama rivers. The created forest plantations will help to prevent solid household waste, soil particles from entering the water surface, promote the rise of groundwater, which will improve the quality and fullness of the rivers.
