President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a law that amends several legislative acts, including the Forest Code. The document will reduce systemic risks and give additional time to adapt several strategic sectors of the Russian economy in the face of external sanctions pressure.
In particular, the amendments to the Forest Code provide for a postponement for 2 years - from January 1, 2023, to January 1, 2025, of the deadline for commissioning the Federal State Information System of the Forestry Complex (FSIS LC).
The change in the timing of the introduction of the FSIS LC into operation is designed to ensure a smoother transition to working with it. This time will be used to test the system in pilot regions, collect feedback from users for further adjustment and optimization.
The law also provides for a postponement until January 1, 2025, of the mandatory photographic fixation of the results of forestry activities using specialized software, equipping logging and forest fire equipment with real-time control over their movements, etc.
