In the second quarter of 2022, a set of measures for the fire-fighting arrangement of forests will be carried out in the Republic of Tatarstan. The events will be carried out by specialists of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan - forestry enterprises following the state assignment for the performance of work on the protection, protection, and reproduction of forests in the territory of the republic.
Thus, this year 2,395.2 km of new mineralized fire-fighting strips will be created and the existing mineralized strips with a total length of 4,806.9 km will be maintained. Work will also be carried out on the construction of fire roads with a length of 111.3 km and their reconstruction - of 426.5 km. In addition, it is planned to improve recreation areas for citizens staying in the forests and install information stands, full houses, and fire-fighting billboards.
“These measures are aimed at preventing the occurrence of forest fires, limiting their spread, and creating conditions for ensuring a successful fight against them,” said Aleksey Mosunov, head of the sector for the protection and protection of the forest fund of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “It is expected that the fire season in the forests will open in mid-April this year.”
