The State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Menzelinsky forestry” is completing preparations for the upcoming silvicultural season
The State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Menzelinsky forestry” is completing preparations for the silvicultural season of 2022. The institution carried out work on the repair of forestry machinery and equipment, the stratification of seeds of forest plants, the harvesting of cuttings of deciduous trees, as well as the “blackening of snow” - scattering ash on the sowing sections of the nursery to accelerate the melting of snow cover and preserve water in the soil.
“In addition, specialists made new wooden shields for shading seedlings,” said Venera Fasteeva, reforestation engineer of the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Menzelinsky forestry”. “We have 5 forest nurseries, this year we plan to sow on an area of 1 hectare. In general, we are ready for silvicultural work, we are waiting for the snow to melt.”
As part of the spring silvicultural campaign on the territory of the Menzelinsky forestry, reforestation will be carried out on an area of 128 hectares, addition of forest plantations - on 397 hectares, and agrotechnical care of forest crops - on 1.2 thousand hectares.
