448.7 kg of coniferous seeds were harvested in Tatarstan within the framework of the national project “Ecology”

In the Republic of Tatarstan, coniferous seeds are being harvested within the framework of the national project “Ecology”. According to specialists from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, since the beginning of 2022, a total of 448.7 kg of seeds have been collected, including 378.7 kg of pine, 65 kg of spruce, and 5 kg of larch.

Among the leaders in the procurement of seeds are Arsky, Mamadyshsky, Sabinsky, and Menzelinsky forestries of the republic.

“Part of the seeds are still being examined at the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan,” commented Ilgizar Zaripov, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “Seed collection is an additional indicator of the regional project “Forest preservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the national project “Ecology”. In total, this year it is necessary to prepare at least 11,455 kilograms of seeds. The bulk will be harvested in the second half of 2022.”

For reference. By 2021, specialists from the forest industry of the Republic of Tatarstan harvested 40,249 kg of seeds of the main forest-forming species (351% of the plan), including 704.5 kg of conifers and 1,130 kg with improved hereditary properties.
