Employees of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Nurlatsky Forestry” have begun laying fire-prevention mineralized strips as part of a set of measures for the fire-prevention arrangement of forests. “Currently, work is being carried out on the territory of the Chulpanovsky district forestry, 2 pieces of equipment are involved,” said Spartak Yelivanov, director of the forestry. “These measures are aimed at preventing the occurrence of forest fires and limiting their spread.”
According to him, in total this year, 117 km of new fire-prevention mineralized strips will be created on the territory of the Nurlat forestry, and maintenance of the existing mineralized strips with a total length of 103 km will be carried out. Work will also be carried out on the construction of fire-fighting roads, their reconstruction, the improvement of recreation areas for citizens staying in the forests, the installation of information stands, full houses, and billboards on fire-fighting topics.
