In the MBOU “Secondary School No. 1” in the city of Menzelinsk, an event was held dedicated to the environmental holiday - the International Day of Mother Earth. It was attended by the head forester of the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Menzelinsky Forestry” Ilnar Akhmetgaliev and his deputy Marcel Khannanov.
Marcel Hannanov gave a lecture to students of a general education institution. Within its framework, he told the children about the forest industry of the republic, the ongoing work on the protection, protection, and reproduction of forests, as well as the rules of fire and sanitary safety in forests.
In addition, a quiz “Forest Connoisseurs” was organized, during which schoolchildren were able to consolidate their knowledge about the forest, flora, and fauna. As a result of the quiz, the distinguished participants were awarded diplomas and memorable prizes.
International Mother Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22nd. The holiday was established at the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly in 2009. More than 50 UN member states acted as co-sponsors of the resolution. The resolution emphasizes that the Earth and its ecosystems are our home, and to achieve a fair balance between the economic, social, and environmental needs of current and future generations, it is necessary to promote harmony with nature and planet Earth.
