Today in the Republic of Tatarstan, a mass cleaning of the forest fund was organized as part of the republican environmental action “Clean Forests of Tatarstan”. The territory of the Matyushinsky district forestry of the Prigorodnoye forestry became the central platform. The event gathered 700 people.
“This year, the spring stage of the action started on April 18 and will last until June 18. Since the beginning of the campaign, 400 cubic meters of solid domestic waste have been collected and removed from the forest fund of the republic,” said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “Also, specialists from the forestry sector improved 9 springs, repaired 160 full houses, information boards and places of recreation for citizens living in the forests.”
“Today, the action is being held simultaneously at 45 sites in all municipal districts of Tatarstan,” the minister added. “We are sincerely grateful to all the participants for their help and invaluable contribution to the conservation and enhancement of the forests of our native republic.”
In total, 15 cubic meters of municipal solid waste were collected by the participants of the action at this site. In general, in the Republic of Tatarstan, 2.2 thousand cubic meters of solid waste were collected and removed, and 2.8 thousand cubic meters of deadwood and fallen wood were piled up for rotting. 25 thousand people took part in the action.
For reference. The Republican environmental action “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” has been carried out by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2010. Its main goal is to create a favorable sanitary and environmental situation in the forests, form an ecological culture and foster a caring attitude towards nature, and unite the initiatives of citizens, organizations, enterprises, and government authorities in environmental protection. Among the regular participants of the action are specialists of organizations, enterprises, and institutions of the republic, representatives of environmental associations, students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, and volunteers.
