Today in the Republic of Tatarstan, a mass cleaning of the forest fund was organized as part of the republican environmental action “Clean Forests of Tatarstan”. The events were timed to coincide with World Environment Day. The territory of the Vysokogorsky district forestry of the Prigorodnoye forestry became the central platform. The action was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Prigorodny Forestry” and the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Training and Experimental Prigorodny Forestry”.
“It is symbolic that the Clean Forests of Tatarstan campaign is being held on the eve of World Environment Day, which will be celebrated tomorrow, June 5,” commented Ilgizar Zaripov, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “After all, forests are essentially the ecological framework of territories, they regulate the composition of the atmosphere, keep the water clean, and protect soil from water and wind erosion. The forest is the most powerful absorber of carbon dioxide and the main supplier of oxygen, without which all life on the planet cannot do. It is forests that play a fundamental role in creating an ecologically clean environment for the life and recreation of the population.”
“Of course, the goal of the campaign “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” is not only to create a favorable sanitary and environmental situation in the forests but also to form an ecological culture, foster a caring attitude towards nature,” says Aleksey Mosunov, head of the sector for the protection and protection of the forest fund of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “Specialists of organizations, enterprises, and institutions of the republic, representatives of environmental associations, students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, and volunteers are actively participating in the action.”
In total, the participants of the action collected 2 cubic meters of municipal solid waste at this site. In general, in the Republic of Tatarstan, 85 cubic meters of solid waste were collected and removed, and 215 cubic meters of dead wood and fallen wood were piled up for rotting. 975 people took part in the action.
Recall that the spring stage of the environmental campaign “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” started on April 18 and will last until June 18 of this year. Since its inception, 2.3 thousand cubic meters of MSW have been collected and removed from the forest fund of the republic. Also, within the framework of the action, specialists of the forestry industry piled 3,000 cubic meters of dead wood and deadwood into heaps for decay and repaired more than 460 full houses, information boards, and places of recreation for citizens staying in the forests.
The autumn stage of the action will be organized from September 12 to November 12 of the current year.
